Dark Days are Coming.

Dear alt.education,

As you read these words governments around the world are preparing for a
pandemic flu virus that will kill up to 150 million people worldwide and
sicken three times as many. At risk of dying are not the weak or old,
but the young and healthy. The virus will attack in three separate waves
and during each wave everyone will be susceptible to reinfection. There
is no vaccine and there is no treatment. People will be contagious for
days without showing any symptoms. High speed international travel and
poultry shipments will make the threat impossible to contain. Public
services and utilities will be minimal if they are functioning at all
due to limited manpower. Food and water will be scarce and social unrest
will be inevitable. And because the U.S. economy is so dependent on
international trade, we will suffer during another region's pandemic
wave as well as our own.

People you know and love will die.

Be aware and prepared. Do not depend on the government. Dark days are
coming.
