Electronic Textbooks in the classroom

Hello,

We're a Grade 6 - 12 private school and we plan to switch to laptops or
tablet PCs for students from a desktop environment (computer to student
ratio is 1:1 in English and Foreign Language classrooms and 2:1 in
History, Science and Math). Since students will be carrying these
laptops around with them, we're looking at ways to lighten their
bookbag load. One option that has come up is electronic textbooks.

Have any of you used electronic texbooks in your classrooms? How
successful have you been in implementing their use in the classroom?
Has there been an increase in the use of print resources (i.e.,
students/faculty printing chapters for a papercopy, etc.)? Any
information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
