Post subject: Opinion needed...
Archived from groups: soc>college>admissions (more info?)

Hi all,

An opinion needed...
Im a grad student at a State University in Cal. My GPA in Computer
Science as of today is 3.4 and I will be graduating with a GPA of 3.52

I have a string of Bs and a C+, a big fat W(withdraw) mixed with many
As.
I am planning on applying to good grad schools(Stan,Cornell) for a
second Masters degree in Math Finance/Management Science(Kind of
applied math areas)

I have a publication and am on the way to publish again. I have decent
GRE scores and GOOD grades in all the math classes(A's) I've taken
here and have been a Teaching Associate on scholarship for 2 years.

Question is, do I stand anychance of cracking an admission to a top
school?
Should I give up hopes and move on?
Or with my strong research experience and good GREs with a okay GPA
should I try applying?

Please do advice

Arun
