He took credit for "creating (not inventing) the internet". It's not so much the
lie the "urban legends" site claims wrt "nor did he say anything that could
reasonably be interpreted that way."

Of course it "could reasonably be interpreted that way", when he was quoted as
saying he "...took the initiative in creating the Internet."
http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,18390,00.html

Only hypocrites that believe his words "...could (NOT) reasonably be interpreted
that way" may also accept the re-defining of what "..."IS" is...". Smile

What complete utter bullshit. A politician with no technical expertise
whatsoever, but with a known capability for fostering high-tech through
policy initiatives says the above and you "reasonably interpret" that he is
claiming he laid fiber-optic cable, developed firmware and wrote code?

Your criteria for what constitutes reasonable is not mainstream.

That's like looking at what Kerry said last week and reasonably inferring
that he really did intend to insult American soldiers (which he himself once
was) and not Bush (who shirked his duty and his books.

But leave it to Bush to either be too dull to understand or too desperate to
avoid the temptation to respond as he did. You be the judge.

Hey everyone! The neocon loons are coming out of hiding!

Of course we have reverse evolution

Just look at these past Presidents: Washington, Adams, Jefferson,
Lincoln.

Now look at the shrub.

Isn't this an excelent example of reverse evolution?

There's no such thing as "global warming".

Or, at least, that was one of the Republican campaign planks.

Now, they can walk it.

The Bushettes say there is no such thing as "global warning".

Therefore, we know that "global warning" is real.

You know, like "winning" in Iraq.

Why do you think they look so happy?

"SUV" is out. These vehicles are now referred to as "Suburban Ladies
Utility Transport".

Yeah but He got an F in universe planning.

And the durn professors (adult gods, everyone) totally forgot to
wipe out the universe that was so poorly created by the young,
junior god.

Hammer? Hm,m,m - hammer? Ah, yes, Tom DeLay. So let's try this one:
"Is not my word like as a fire about this high? And like Tom DeLay
that breaketh the rock in pieces at the big house?"

If it fits, wear it.

Speaking of "progress", so to speak, does anyone have an URL for a
complete "story" of the 2006 elections?

I mean in less than 25 screens.

Though [sigh], HuffPost will prolly have it in a couple of days.

The BushieThing had "political capital" but, now, the boy has
declared political and ethical bankruptcy.

Future political economic writers may well, in the future, refer to
it as the "Bush Bubble".

And, if you have read of the American Legion's political and
religious participation in the last few weeks, it's pretty obvious
why I have never - and will never - join that political and
religious lobby.

Just tell me you're attempting to lead a "Christ-like" life rather
than simply calling yourself a "Christian" just like the inmates on
death row.

JD, you have no sense of humor I am afraid.

Of course, this is not an original joke with me. It was said by Henry
James, discussing some of the current Presidents he lived under in the
XIXth century, that comparing them with our forefahters, they disproved
Darwin's theory.

But you have to admit that the shrub does fit the bill...
