Emory is a better school, and it has a reputation for offering pretty
good financial aid to students it wants. But that often means
out-of-state students, as they try to expand their
geographic-diversity. But, if Emory is willing to give you money, the
same is true of almost every other top private school, so why look
only in Georgia? You might help a top out-of-state private expand its
geographic diversity by being one of only a few to apply from Georgia.
That said, UGA's business school shows up on a number of top lists.
Also, Georgia Tech is trying hard to promote its new business school
and business center, especially in Georgia, but be careful of that.
Business Week magazine – Oct. 21, 2002 issue - While Business Week
names its top 30 MBA schools, Georgia Tech was deleted from its
recommended list. It is the only school in the 2000 list to be removed
from the 2002 list. US News followed suit and dropped GT from its top
50 in April 2003. To see how Georgia Tech compares with other business
management programs, go to
www.bschool.com/ussbys.html, and see a
side-by-side comparisons of the best business programs in the nation
and world. Georgia Tech does not make a single list, including those,
like Financial Times, that rank the top 100.
