I have been admitted to the University Of Toronto and Waterloo to study
Computer Science.University of Toronto have offered me an entrance
scholarship and transfer credits (from courses I did in high school in the
UK), Waterloo so far have offered me nothing
although they claim scholarship decisions are made in late May. I know
University Of Waterloo has a better reputation for comp sci, however Toronto
comes in a close second and is offering me allot of incentive to go to
University there. Toronto has allot of other advantages such as location,
however should I take that into account when making my choice or should it
solely be based upon the reputation of the department I am entering into.
Just wondering what the groups opinion was on the matter, any input would be
welcomed.

Will

Toronto CS is no slouch, which such luminaries as Stephen Cook. Any
slight difference is CS education that there may be will be far less
significant than other factors (U of T is in downtown Toronto. Waterloo is
in, well Waterloo). Remember, this is a place where you'll be living for
3-4 years.

If Toronto is more your scene, and especially if they're throwing goodies
at you, don't let any percieved infinitesimal difference in education
throw you off.
