How common is it for a university to run a background check on a
student applying for admission to graduate school? On all
applications it asks if you have ever been convicted of a criminal
offense, but how often do they check your background to make sure, if
you answer no? Do they run checks on every applicant, or do they very
rarely run any checks at all?
Second question, if you have plead guilty to something like petty
theft of something at a grocery store, and paid the fine for it, how
much will that factor into their admissions decision?
