Need some help

hey guys.......i will be joining ucla for a masters in EE with
networking as my specialisation.......i have completed my undergrad
from india and will be arriving at ucla in the last week of
august.......i wanted some help from the current masters students for
the courses that i should select as well as any pre-requisites that i
should be having before coming to ucla for such courses.........

also, i wanted information on the relevant books on these courses so
that i can get them from india since books are way cheaper than in the
US.......

wanted to know about the housing options near UCLA.......want the
cheapest place possible and also your opinions as to whether i should
buy a car or not.......i have heard that the area near ucla is really
expensive but a bit far is pretty cheap........will it be prudent to
stay a bit far and buy a car or staying near the campus makes more
sense.........

please help me out with the courses and relevanmt books as they are my
main concern apart from my housing............
